Sally Dickes and Gilles Miny became luxembourgish triathlon champions over the olympic distance on saturday in Echternach.
Under poor weather conditions, Gilles had the best bike split despite slippery roads due to heavy rain during the bike part. He won the overall race in 2h10:00 (22:31 – 1h09:29 – 36:34)
Sally became 2nd female overall behind dutch Haitske Overbeek and took the national title in 2h38:32 (26:34 – 1h23:12 – 46:50) just before Samantha Ecker in 2h42:31 (26:36 – 1h23:48 – 49:46 – 3rd overall and 2nd on the national podium)
Yves Origer finished in 3h13:44 on 86th rank overall and 2nd in M60. Mike Heuschling dropped out of the race on the bike leg after a very impressive swim section in 22:54 (6th out of the water)
