Jean-Claude Schmitz has chosen the middle distance triathlon in Weilburg (north of Frankfurt/Main) as a test prior to his Ironman start in a couple of weeks.
After a good 1.9km-swim in 23:13min in the ‘Lahn’ river, Jean-Claude left T1 on 58th position overall. Once on the bike, he pushed a little too hard blowing up on the 2nd lap, so he had to slow down to finish these hilly 100km in 3:18:53 (29th position)
On the 3-loop running course, he kept the cadence high to finish the 21km in 1:56:27. Jean-Claude ranked himself onto 45th place overall out of 167 finishers with an end time of 5:17:08.
