Due to the recent mass outbreaks of cyanobacteria, also called blue-green algae, in the water of the Haute-Sûre reservoir, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure has recommended against bathing in the reservoir water. Therefore, the first edition of the Eislek-Triathlon was changed to a Duathlon with a 5km running loop instead of the 1.9km swim part.
Our athletes showed some very good performances on saturday, with a 3rd rank overall by our professional athlete Olivier Godart and a 11th rank overall by Christian Weyland at his first race for our club.
Fabrice Coste finished on 40th rank overall, followed by Brice Faucheux on 51st rank and Carlo Feltes on 78th rank. Finally, Chris de Oliveira finished on 97th position on this very demanding and challenging race course. Well done!
In the team trials, Chris Doyle (first runner 5km) finished 4th overall with his team ‘SYRDALL SCHMUEBELEN’, Pierre Rossler (first runner 5km) finished 15th with his team ‘OLD SCHOOL’ and Elis Gaudron (second runner 21km) took 19th rank with the ladies team ‘TRIATHLONSPRINZESSINNEN’.
