Great performance by Annette Jaffke at the olympic distance triathlon in La Gileppe [BEL].
Annette covered the 1.5km swim in the clear lake of La Gileppe in 22:57 – just about 30 seconds behind belgian Annabelle Pirotte, she started the 47km on the hilly bike course. In 1:34:36 for these 47km, Annette managed to keep 2nd rank with a lag of 4 minutes to Pirotte.
But once on the 10km running course, Annette showed her fighting spirit and pushed very hard gaining ground very quickly. In the second lap of 5km, Annette passed Pirotte and finished the triathlon with an impressive run split of 39:43 with an OVERALL VICTORY!!! Congratulations for this impressive result.
Good result too for our belgian athlete Francois Reding, who placed himself on a very good 7th rank overall out of 327 finishers.
