Super performances by our athletes at the traditional Challenge Roth this sunday. Claude Lucas set a new PB by breaking the 9h-barrier for the first time.
Claude showed a very strong performance under hot conditions. After a swim in 56:30, he hammered a very fast bike split on the tarmac in 4h31:57 (36th time overall) to conclude with a marathon in 3h18:36. For the first time, Claude stayed below the 9h with an official finish time of 8h50:39 and a 48th rank overall. Congratulations for this achievement!
Christian Weyland had a good performance too, personally not satisfied by 100%, but he crossed the finishline in 9h14:57 on 105th rank. Eric Gonderinger came in close on his first long distance triathlon by setting a time of 9h27:16 (marathon : 3h15:14). Paulo Santos finished (on his 1st LD too) in excellent 10h22:37 and an end rank of 434.
Claude Wurth had to dig deep to finish the race, but he managed to finish on 1111th rank in 11h51:03. Finally, Yves Origer, who ran his 1st LD too, was extremely happy to finish the day in 13h22:30.
Simon Smallbone, who ran for the dutch Koa Sports, classified on 921st rank in 11h28:14.
Unfortunately, Gullu Evora drop out of this race at km45 of the bike portion due to a calf issue. No timing data for Garry Assel though.
Congratulations to all our finisher.
