Full house on the national podiums male and female – what a great day for our team and its athletes at the Ironman 70.3 in Remich today. Hot and heavy weather conditions made the race extremely exhausting for everyone out there this afternoon, but nevertheless, Adrien Rossignon and Samantha Ecker took the national MD/LD title for the first time.
Adrien had a consistent race today and finished 26th overall in 4:32:58, leading Claude Lucas on 2nd national rank (4h45:47 on 63rd rank) and Paulo Santos on 3rd national rank (5h02:43 on 175th rank overall)
In between, our spanish athlete Antonio Jimenez Sanchez showed an extremely good running performance in 1h23 to finish on 102nd rank overall in 4h52:20. National Top5 was concluded by Yves Koch in 5h03:18.
In the female field, Anja Dziadek came in fastest in 5h06:19 (3rd in F35) but was not eligible for the national podium as she didn’t wear the official club trisuit… So Samantha Ecker became luxembourgish female MD/LD champion in 5h22:41, 2nd national rank goes to Elisa Whitehouse in 5h24:59 and 3rd national rank is for Sally Dickes in 5h30:38!!!
So 6 out of 6 for the national championship from our team – well done and congratulations to everyone.
In the male relay team event, Leo and Alex Weishaar together with Tom Schmit finished on excellent 3rd rank overall in 4h49:18
